History of the halls
The halls were built for the Cottbus Textile Combine (TKC). For this purpose, a special folding support net was developed as a roof structure in order to create large spans. With fall of the Berlin Wall and the subsequent insolvency of Embo, the TKC died. As a result, the city and region not only lost over 1,000 jobs, but also a valuable industry.
Part of the halls (approx. 25%) could be used again by the shopping center, hardware store, medical center and small businesses. The greater part remained empty for a long time.
With the purchase of the property by HBV Concept GmbH in 2010, the halls were prepared for rental. A powerful photovoltaic system was installed on the roof.
